The DrTalks connector

Ask Claude or ChatGPT about the chat widgets you run on DrTalks — how busy they are, which links visitors click, and which suggested questions convert — without opening the dashboard.

What you need

  • A DrTalks account with at least one site.
  • An assistant plan that supports connectors.

Connecting

In Claude, install DrTalks straight from the connector directory. In ChatGPT, add it yourself as an MCP app using the server URL:

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and find DrTalks under Browse connectors.
  2. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, click Add, choose Create MCP App, and paste the server URL above with authentication set to OAuth.
  3. Sign in with your DrTalks account when the authorisation prompt appears.
  4. Ask the assistant to list your sites to confirm the connection works.

What the connector can do

It exposes 4 read-only tools. The assistant picks which to call based on what you ask.

List the DrTalks chat-widget sites the authenticated account can access, with each site's id, practice name, domain, indexing status, and subscription status.
Get analytics overview get_analytics_overview
Get an analytics overview for one site over a recent window: chats today (with trend), total conversations (with trend), daily chat volume, knowledge-base item count, and indexing status.
Get link analytics get_link_analytics
Get aggregated link-click analytics for one site over a recent window: total clicks, clicks by link type, and the top clicked links.
Get suggested questions get_suggested_questions
Get suggested-question analytics for one site over a recent window: clicks, conversions, conversion rate, clicks by variant, and the top suggested questions.

  • How is chat volume trending on my practice site over the last 30 days?
  • What are the top clicked links in my chat replies this month?
  • Which suggested questions convert best, and which ones should I replace?

Start by asking for your sites — the other tools need a site id, and the assistant picks it up from that first answer.

What it cannot do

Every tool is read-only. The connector retrieves information from your DrTalks account and cannot create, change, or delete anything.

Responses are built from an explicit list of permitted fields, so chat transcripts and information identifying individual visitors are never sent to the assistant. Our privacy notice sets out what is shared and how long it is kept.

Revoking access

Disconnect the connector at any time — in Claude or ChatGPT open Settings, then Connectors, and disconnect DrTalks. Access stops immediately and no further requests can be made against your account.

Troubleshooting

The assistant says you have no sites.
You authorised a DrTalks account with no sites attached. Disconnect the connector and reconnect with the account that owns them.
A tool reports that you are not authenticated.
The authorisation has expired or been revoked. Disconnect the connector and add it again to sign in afresh.
Analytics come back empty for a site you just created.
Figures appear once the widget is live on your site and has handled conversations. Check the widget is installed, then try a wider time window.
